What Is Custom Cut Clear Tempered Glass?
Custom cut clear tempered glass is clear float glass that is cut and processed to the required final dimensions before undergoing thermal tempering.
During tempering, the glass is heated and rapidly cooled to create compressive stress on the surface. This increases its mechanical strength and changes its breakage behavior compared with ordinary annealed glass.
Because tempered glass cannot normally be cut, drilled or significantly reworked after tempering, all required fabrication must be completed before the tempering process.
This makes accurate drawings, dimensions and processing specifications especially important for custom tempered glass orders.
